Biography
William Henry Marcus Miller Jr., more commonly known as Marcus Miller, is a multi-instrumentalist, producer and composer, but is best known for playing the bass guitar. Born June 14, 1959, in Brooklyn, New York, he grew up in a family of musicians, specifically his father William Miller, a church organist, and his cousin, jazz pianist Wynton Kelly. Miller plays guitar, saxophone, bass, keyboards, clarinet, and the recorder. Starting in 1975, he performed as a session musician for 15 years, eventually playing the bass on over 500 recordings. He also currently records and tours as a bandleader.
