A boy genius, Freddy Facknitts, invents a time machine that sends Denver and Morton Fizzback into the past and into the middle of a crazy caveman competition called Mammothball.

When the boys enter Wally's dog, Rocky, in a relay race for dogs, they also disguise Denver as a dog so that Rocky will perform well.

To help Wally in his predicament with Johnny Price, a practical joker who continually torments him, Denver uses his magic tar eggshell and shows Wally a time in his own life when he was tormented by the Pteranodon, and Wally is able to become friends with Johnny Price.

2. Battle of the Bands

Decked out in caveman attire, Denver and the kids form a rock group (B.C. Rock) to compete in the city wide talent contest. Freddy Facknitts also form a group called Roborock (rock'n'roll robots). But Morton Fizzback and Dr. Funt steal the robot band right before the contest and the kids must go after them.

Denver is kidnapped and put in a secret private zoo of the wealthy collector of exotic animals, Madame Menagerie, who hopes to make millions by selling the dinosaur to the movies.

8. Denver and the Cornstalk

In an embellished story of Jack and The Bean Stalk, Denver buys some magic corn kernels from Morton Fizzback, plants them, then climbs the giant stalk to arrive at the castle of the giantess (Bertha Bird).

Denver's mistaken identity at a golf tournament sets Fizzback and Funt off on a high-tech cheating spree while the golf course groundskeeper tries to capture what he believes to be the Loch Ness Monster.
