Secrets of the Transport Museum
Brooklands Museum is home to the world's most important pieces of motorsport and aviation history. From the first purpose-built racing circuit and the cars that broke land-speed records on it, to an extraordinary collection of aircrafts highlighting aeronautical innovation - this place has it all. But it’s a constant battle to keep the engines humming and the rotors turning on these priceless pieces of engineering. Every day, a team of volunteer mechanics and restorers are on hand to save these precious vehicles from the ravages of time. Follow the Brooklands volunteers and staff as they mend, maintain and restore the most extraordinary historic motors and aeroplanes in the world.

1. Frazer Nash
Air Date: 2021-03-30
A historic Frazer Nash car must be fixed before a big race. Plus, the first car ever to go round the track is brought back to life but will the museum director pass her test in order to drive it? And a Harrier jump jet is feeling deflated.
2. Abbie Eaton
Air Date: 2021-04-06
A Delage V12 famous for early women’s records on the track returns to be driven by a modern‐day legend. Concorde’s wings need some urgent TLC. A Route Master is given a makeover. And two generations fix an extremely rare motorcycle.
3. Vintage Planes
Air Date: 2021-04-13
There’s a battle against the elements for vintage aircraft to grace the skies of Brooklands once again. A rare Triumph motorcycle is rescued from a barn and brought back to life. And a wooden car is being eaten alive by woodworm.
4. Formula E Car
Air Date: 2021-04-20
An F1 racer goes on a perilous journey and there’s a new addition to the exhibit – a Formula E car. It takes teamwork to fix the snapped gearstick on the Railton Terraplane, and a dynamic duo tackle a dented wing in the Aero‐Minx.
5. 87 Year Old Napier Railton
Air Date: 2021-04-27
A legendary racing car is put through its paces, when it meets an old rival. There’s an eight‐year mission to restore a Wellington Bomber and time is short for the team preparing to commemorate a devastating WWII bombing.
6. Concorde
Air Date: 2021-05-04
Brookland’s Concorde ‘Delta Golf’ has a makeover, in time for a visit from Concorde royalty. The race track’s old Finishing Straight plays host to Motoball, a WWI sport invented by bored dispatch riders. And three volunteers are determined to fix a neglected aerodrome fire engine in time for the parade.
7. Le Mans

A volunteer is tasked with waking a legendary Le Mans racer from its exhibit slumber. A decommissioned bomb proves a slippery customer, and can the experts bring to life the dormant engines of a transatlantic flyer?
8. Morris 8
Air Date: 2021-05-18
Racing driver Billy Monger gives a fellow double amputee a driving lesson. Also, a mighty Morris 8 receives an engine overhaul, a Bentley Le Man’s seats are restored and a fire engine gets pumping for the first time in years.
9. 100 Year Old Bike
Air Date: 2021-05-25
An aviation obsessive recovers from a near fatal crash by testing one of his homemade planes; The legendary Napier-Railton has a service; some treasure is found in the museum tower, and a hundred‐year‐old push bike gets a wooden wheel built.
10. Barnes Wallis
Air Date: 2021-06-01
A Barnes Wallis catapult is fixed by volunteers, but will they be able to bounce bombs on water like the dambusters? A Triumph car is put through its paces in a road test. And a classic motorbike requires more than just a push start.

An amazing pre-war race car, the Halford Special, is lined up to compete against a stunning Bugatti in a re-run of the first ever British Grand prix.
2. Indian vs Harley Davidson

A young racing driver learns how to handle the Napier-Railton. Plus, a race winning Harrier jet, and pilot, are reunited.
3. Classic Car Competition
Air Date: 2022-02-15
The motorbike team create a new lubrication system to keep a 1930s BSA motorbike running. Plus, a Mini Metro and red Corvette turn heads at the Members Classic Car Show.
4. The Ladybird Glider
Air Date: 2022-02-22
A rare Brooklands glider is given a new chance at flight. Plus, a 1930s race team is pushed to the max at Goodwood.
5. The Napier Railton vs The Brough Superior
Air Date: 2022-03-01
Two of the museum's most famous, and fastest vehicles go head-to-head. Plus, an old airfield fire engine needs TLC to be ready for the museum's Emergency Services event.
6. Merlin Bus
Air Date: 2022-03-08
A father and son team battle to get their vintage buses ready for the Brooklands bus show. Plus, a man tries to bring his great grandfather's motorcycle dreams back from the dead.
7. The Flying Millyard

Volunteer Mark visits bike building maestro Allen Millyard to chooses two models for Brooklands Motorcycle day.
8. Skid Pan in a Vintage Bus
Air Date: 2022-03-22
Bus obsessed radio DJ Ed Adoo gets the ultimate driving lesson in a double decker. Plus, a rare cutting edge bike from the past is saved by modern engineering.
9. Mini Make-Over
Air Date: 2022-03-29
A Mini makeover reduces its owners to tears. A replica, 1925 cycle car, that's taken six years to build, comes a cropper at Brooklands.
10. Sanjeev Visits The Museum
Air Date: 2022-04-05
Actor and writer Sanjeev Bhaskar visits Brooklands to re-live a past supersonic experience and the earliest ever Triumph motorcycle is unveiled.
