Two men-about-town plan a romantic evening in a private room at the Café Anglais. Unfortunately the lady picked up at the opera ball turns out to be very different from what they expected, and the evening is further complicated by the arrival of one of their wives.

A gentleman who is trying to rid himself of his mistress and marry a woman of property engages a servant who insults his master's future mother-in-law and puts all the plans in jeopardy.
