Tomaž Kajzer (Matija Vastl) appears to live a perfect and comfortable life sheltered by his family, his wife Alenka (Katarina Čas), and their two daughters. He works as a financial forensic specialist, and his passion is running. He runs every day and takes part in at least two marathons a year, despite having suffered from asthma since childhood. Into the idyll of Tomaž’s life steps his old friend Strmecki (Vincenc Lotos Šparovec), bringing with him revived memories of certain delicate shared experiences and long‑buried emotions. Suddenly, Tomaž Kajzer’s life begins to turn in an unexpected direction. Who was good, and who was bad? Can a crime occur that remains unexplained? Is life a marathon — shorter for some, longer for others…

A polished Porsche, an outrageously expensive wristwatch, a flawlessly arranged apartment, an exclusive hobby — all this and more belongs to this desirable bachelor, who is unbeatable in the courtroom. He is the fear and terror of fellow lawyers, never letting them control the game and punishing every mistake they make. Is his ideal a life without flaws? In the opening monologue, we learn what the main character of this episode does: “I am Tom Kajzer. I’ve been a creative director for more than 15 years, the last ten at Studio Ideja. I’ve already won every award there is to win… Today’s idea will be awarded too… shame it isn’t really mine. But in life you have to get by. What is truly original anymore? We all copy everything…” Tom shamelessly steals advertising ideas from colleagues abroad and at home, even from his wife Alenka, a successful architect, and presents them as his own. Throughout the story, various “Tom quotes,” stolen ads, and reworked fragments of famous originals are woven in. Tom’s student and colleague, young Šegula, once admired his superior, but now feels only contempt. The agency where Kajzer works faces one of its biggest challenges; Tom tirelessly seeks a solution and even finds one. But on the day of the big presentation for an extremely important client, a twist occurs.

1. Dust

After leaving his homeland, Tomaž Kajzer became one of the world’s most acclaimed choreographers. At first, it seems that his dance production The Baptism at the Savica will finally bring him recognition at home as well. But when politicians attend the preview performance, they dislike the show entirely and give an ultimatum to artistic director Šmid, who invited Kajzer: either Kajzer’s career is jeopardized, or Šmid must break off the collaboration. The manipulation of the media and the destructive power of falsehoods know no bounds. Will this be yet another confirmation that the fear of flying is a mere trifle compared to human treachery?

2. Conspiracy

Tomaž Kajzer is fully committed to pushing through a much‑needed but unpopular pension reform. He does not understand political games and is on the verge of resigning. Finally, Sunday arrives, when Kajzer’s father joins him and his family for their weekly lunch. This time, however, the familiar rhythm is broken by his father’s seemingly innocent car accident. Nothing is as it seems. Is there something hidden behind such an unusual event as a traffic accident? Paranoia and obsession with his own goals overshadow the truth so strongly that Kajzer fails to see what is truly most important in life.

3. Eeny, Meeny, Miny, Moe

Air Date: 2024-01-21

When the body of an 8‑year‑old girl is found, Kajzer and the entire police team strive to solve the brutal murder, which shakes him deeply. The conversation with the family of the deceased girl is painful and difficult, especially with her father. The police identify a suspect, and it seems the case is close to resolution. However, the polygraph shows nothing. Due to lack of evidence, the suspect must be released. The news reverberates publicly, as this means the perpetrator of the cruel murder is still at large. The police are back at the beginning. But when the released suspect is found dead, it seems as if fate itself has delivered punishment. Or has it?

4. Inheritance

Air Date: 2024-01-28

Tomaž Kajzer is extremely successful in his work and has never experienced a true business failure in his career, which gives him the confidence to pursue a risky deal that promises great profit. His method of working is rather unusual. He regularly scans obituaries, and one for Julijan Krek catches his eye. Kajzer and his partner Sven quickly discover that the deceased left behind an exceptional property. Kajzer finds a potential buyer, convinces the deceased’s son to sell, and arranges a loan… but with the wrong person. The son is not the only heir. Julijan Krek also has an illegitimate daughter, 16‑year‑old Karolina, who can turn the entire deal upside down. How far is Kajzer willing to go to achieve his goal?

5. God is Great

"My name is Tomaž Kajzer. I am a priest. I know that today this is a strange vocation, but when you hear the call, the decision is truly simple. And final." This is what Tomaž Kajzer deeply believed until an unexpected encounter with Alenka, a widow with two children. Meeting her stirs a restlessness in him like never before. He is haunted by guilt, day and night. “Love is what gives us hope,” he tells his parishioners during mass. Yet deep inside, Kajzer feels that the call of this new love is stronger than the one many years ago, when God called him. He announces to the archbishop — his own brother — his irrevocable departure from the Church. As with every decision, this one also brings consequences.
