Detectives Club

Two young kids form the Moochie Kalala Detectives Club to uncover the truth behind their grandpa's wild stories. Every Saturday, Grandpa comes over and shares a ridiculous story that twists the kids thinking about science. To uncover the real story, the kids head to Museums and Zoos and meet with real scientists to discover the truth. Episodes feature museums and scientists from Adler Planetarium, The Field Museum, John G. Shedd Aquarium, Museum of Science & Industry, Lincoln Park Zoo and Frank Lloyd Wright Trust.

After Grandpa tells his story about a dragon guarding water on Mars, Mandy and Kyle jet over to the Adler Planetarium and meet planetary scientist Mark Hammergren to learn the truth about Mars.

2. Hoagies vs Grabinators of Skunksville

Did you know that tornadoes are made from grabinators and hoagies? Neither did Kyle and Mandy, until Grandpa told his story. To check the facts, the detectives head to Museum of Science and Industry and meet with physicist Olivia Castellini.

3. We're All Good At Something

Mandy think she's the best at everything until grandpa tells his story about Moochie Kalala in a contest with a Chimpanzee and a Gorilla. To check the facts, she and Kyle will meet Primatologist Steve Ross at the Lincoln Park Zoo.

4. The Cave Girl and the T-Rex

Grandpa's story puts Moochie Kalala toe-to-toe with a T-Rex. People and dinosaurs did not live at the same time. Or did they? Paleontologist Bill Simpson from The Field Museum helps Mandy and Kyle explore the facts.

5. The Magic Blocks of Creation

Air Date: 2015-02-07

Grandpa says Frank Lloyd Wright used magic blocks to build the Robie House. When Mandy and Kyle go on a mission to find the blocks, they uncover a whole lot more meeting architect Royce Yeater.

6. A Whale of a Tale

Air Date: 2015-02-21

Moochie is rescued at sea by a singing Beluga whale. Once again, Grandpa's crazy story sends Kyle and Mandy on a journey to Shedd Aquarium to discover the facts from marine animal trainer Elizabeth Davis.
