The first case looks at vanishing show girl, Mollie Mozelle, who died in mysterious circumstances in 1949. The second one follow Maundy Gregor,y who sold peerages on behalf the Liberal Party and was involved in a blackmail scandal, in1927.
2. Freddie Mills/Louise Masset

In 1965, former boxer Freddie Mills was found dead, shot through one eye. The verdict was suicide but should it be murder. In 1900, Louise Masset was executed for the murder of her 3-year-old child but was she really a victim of prejudice.
3. Unjust Deserts/An Uncommon Murder

In 1928 and 1929, three members of the Sidney family were poisoned. The Croyden Poisonings remain unsolved to this day. In December 1910, police disturb a robbery. Lativian anarchists inside come out fighting leaving three officers dead.

In May 1932, wealthy Elvira Barney and Michael Scott Stephens host a party. Next morning, Stephens is found dead and Barney will face trial. Robert Hoolhouse was hung for the murder of Margaret Dobson, in 1938, but did he get a fair trial?

In June 1931, model Starr Faithfull was found on a beach in Long Beach, New York. Despite a verdict of drowning she was badly bruised. Sept 1900; Mary Hood's body washed up on Yarmouth beach. Police later learn her to be Mary Jane Bennett.

April 1879; Liverpool merchant James Maybrick is poisoned with arsenic. His wife Florence is found guilty but did she get a fair trial? 6 Jan 1931; Evelyn Foster drives a man to Ponteland. Hours later she is found badly burned on moorland.

Dr. Robert Clements married three times for money. In 1940, he took a fourth bride but she, too, soon becomes ill. In 1863, poverty was rife in mill towns. When Alice Hewitt takes out a life insurance on mother she finds herself arrested.

Gangland boss Jim Colosimo is obsessed with singer Dale Winter so hires Johnny Torrio and Al Capone to deal with business. In 1911, James Bingham is caretaker at Lancaster Castle, his sister is housekeeper. Within a year both are dead.

June 1934; The body of Violet Kaye is found in a trunk, in Brighton. Kaye was in a violent relationship with drunk Tony Mancini. In July 1910, two shots were heard at the flat of actor Weldon Atherstone. Police break in and find him dead.

346 men who were shot at dawn during the Great War. James Crozier joined up at sixteen but suffering from shell shock he deserted. Private's Wild and Crimmins get drunk on the eve of the Battle of Somme and get charged with cowardice.

Jan 1926; Kathleen Smith meets Jack Derham but her husband Jack is determined to win her back. The two fight and Denham dies. In 1919; Arthur Goslett has two wives, Evelyn and Daisy. Daisy confronts him and he decides to murder Evelyn.
2. Ring of Truth/The Golden Goose
Air Date: 1996-08-12
In 1865; Adolf Beck is identified as swindler John Smith. He is sentenced to jail for 12 years. His name is finally cleared 1907. In 1909, George Storrs fears for his life but the police fail react to a ringing bell and he is found dead.
3. Murder of a Memsahib/A Place of Execution
Air Date: 1996-08-19
Sept 1911: Frances Garnett Orme was found dead at the Savoy, in Lucknow. Her friend, Eva Mount Stephens is put on trial for poisoning her. In 1884, John Lee was due to hang for the murder of Emma Keyse but on three occasions it failed.
4. An Evil Business/Dearest Pet
Air Date: 1996-08-26
In 1560, Queen Elizabeth I's close friendship Robert Dudley is frowned on. When Dudley's wife dies a scandal threatens the monarchy. Glasgow 1855, Madeleine Smith is accused of poisoning lover Emile L'Angelier over her scandalous letters.
5. Who's Sorry Now?/The Woman in Grey
Air Date: 1996-10-04
Jan 1928; Harry Pace dies of arsenic poisoning. His wife Beatrice was released due a lack of evidence and the possibility Harry killed himself. Feb 1882; Esther Pay is tried for poisoning Georgina Moore but acquitted due faulty evidence.
6. The Monster of Reading /The Letter Killeth
Air Date: 1996-10-11
In 1929, American stage actor Philip Yale Drew is accused of murdering a tobacconist, in Reading but he claims to have no memory. Aug 1908; Charles and Caroline Luard go walking but while he collects his golf clubs she is found murdered.
