We drive past the Aletsch Glacier, the largest ice mass in the Alps, measuring no less than 23 kilometers in length. The ride with the Glacier Express ends in Zermatt, known for the most iconic mountain in Switzerland: the Matterhorn. In Zermatt we take a cog railway to the Gornergrat. The journey goes through dense forests and alpine meadows to a spectacular altitude of 3089 meters. Along the way, the traveler is treated to beautiful views.
