Octonauts

The Octonauts is a British children's television series, produced by Silvergate Media for the BBC channel Cbeebies. The series is animated in Ireland by Brown Bag Films but uses British voice actors. The TV series is based on American-Canadian children's books written by Vicki Wong and Michael C. Murphy of Meomi Design Inc. The Octonauts follows an underwater exploring crew made up of stylized anthropomorphic animals, a team of eight adventurers who live in an undersea base, the Octopod, from where they go on undersea adventures with the help of a fleet of aquatic vehicles. The subject matter is reminiscent of Star Trek and Thunderbirds blended with Jacques Cousteau. Although it is science fiction as regards its technology, the exotic creatures and locations that the crew encounter are real marine animals in their natural habitats.

When a huge Orca whale becomes stranded on a beach, Captain Barnacles Bear and the Octonauts devise a plan to pull him back into the water, with some help from a group of tunnelling Fiddler Crabs.

Captain Barnacles and his crew must catch a runaway Octopod, when it is hijacked by a group of crustaceans trying to escape their algae-infested waters.

The Octonauts must evacuate sea creatures before an underwater volcano erupts, but there's one creature that won't budge: a slow moving, gelatinous Blobfish.

While exploring the Arctic, the Octopod gets trapped in the ice. Only Barnacles's skillful navigation, and the help of a friendly Narwhal, can get them free.

While exploring the deepest part of the ocean, the Midnight Zone, the Octonauts discover a strange rock that happens to be home to a new species of worm.

20. The Snot Sea Cucumber

After an underwater tremor, an injured sea cucumber named Slippy gets loose on the Octopod, so to let her breathe, they flood the ship!

The Octonauts race against time to rescue Tweak's pal, a leatherback sea turtle who's caught in a fast-moving ocean current that's sucking it into a whirlpool.

22. The Hermit Crabs

When Captain Barnacles Bear and most of the crew are unable to return to base, it's up to Peso and Tweak to remove a stuck hermit crab from its shell.

23. The Mixed-Up Whales

When the Octonauts clean and repair their ship, the Octopod, the resulting noise causes a nearby blue whale to act in strange and dangerous ways.

24. The Kelp Forest Rescue

When Peso's little brother, Pinto, comes to visit, he's more interested in being a pirate than a medic – at least until he accompanies Peso on a mission to rescue Dashi and Shellington in a kelp forest.

When important objects go missing from their ship, the Octonauts stake out the thief, who turns out to be a decorator crab stealing their things to decorate his shell.

The Octonauts lead a pod of Beluga Whales stuck under the pack ice to safety by getting them to follow Peso while he's playing the same tune as the Beluga's song on his xylophone.

The Octonauts are chased by a whitetip shark only to discover all it really needed was a pilot fish to clean its teeth, and it just so happens that they have just met a lonely pilot fish that is hungry for action.

Peso must gather all his courage when he travels deep down to the very bottom of the ocean, the Midnight Zone, and encounters the mysterious Vampire Squid.

29. The Seahorse Tale

After a storm, the Octonauts help a female seahorse search for her missing mate. She tells them, to Kwazii's surprise, that the missing male seahorse is about to give birth to baby seahorses!

31. The Cookiecutter Sharks

Some mysterious holes that keep appearing in the Octonauts' equipment turn out to be the work of cookiecutter sharks whose bioluminescence initially made them invisible against the light coming down from the sea surface.

Dashi snaps a picture of what appears to be a sea serpent, but the truth is stranger than fiction when it turns out to be an awesomely long Oarfish.

When Kwazii and Peso are shipwrecked on a desert island, they encounter a Combtooth Blenny - a fish who walks on land! They enlist him to send an SOS message to the other Octonauts.

The Octopod is attacked by a colossal squid, who drags the ship down an abyssal trench, forcing Barnacles and Kwazii to make a perilous swim outside to confront the gigantic beast.

While Kwazii and Peso have their hands full babysitting a bunch of Adelie penguin chicks, Captain Barnacles must rescue the chicks' parents from a perilous sea storm!

Kwazii finds a mysterious, unbreakable coconut, so the Octonauts seek out the help of some large, island-dwelling coconut crabs to open it.

4. The Great White Shark

Peso must perform an emergency fin bandage on a hungry great white shark, but first they need to subdue the giant predator using a trick called 'tonic immobility'.

5. The Sea Snakes

It's Sea Snakes on an Octopod when a poisonous sea krait lays her eggs in the garden pod, just as Captain Barnacles has to navigate the ship past a treacherous whirlpool.

6. The Bowhead Whales

When the Octonauts are unable to rescue a group of Narwhals trapped behind arctic ice, they recruit a Bowhead Whale to help them break through!

7. The Jawfish

A mouth-brooding jawfish father has lost his eggs, and the Octonauts must brave strong currents and other obstacles to help get them back to him!

8. The Porcupine Puffer

Barnacles, Kwazii and Peso venture back inside a whale shark to retrieve a Porcupine Puffer Fish that was accidentally swallowed.

The octonauts discover a rare showing of a full moon as Kwazii discovers that its known as the Pirate Moon as Kwazii and The Octonauts search for a ship that belonged to the pirate king as Kwazii searches for the sword of the Pirate King until a trio of swordfish prevent Kwazii from getting closer to the wrecked ship.

15. The Triggerfish

The Octonauts' floating temperature sensors alert them to a risk of waterspouts due to a rise in sea surface temperature so they decide to retrieve the devices for safe-keeping. But Kwazii gets into an argument with a possessive triggerfish which has adopted one of the devices as its home, and they both get carried away by a waterspout. Kwazii ends up having to defend the fish from a seabird and a swordfish that want to eat it. Luckily the characteristic grunting sounds that triggerfish make when distressed enables the other Octonauts to locate them.

16. The Mimic Octopus

The Octonauts recruit a shape-shifting mimic octopus to help them recover an important vial of medicinal algae from a moray eel's lair.

1. Bluefin Tuna

After an encounter with a school of migrating tuna, the Octonauts discover that one of the speedy fish, Tina, has been left behind. And she’s injured! Poor Tina has a hook stuck in her mouth and is too weak to swim. After Peso tends to her wound, the Octonauts agree to help get her to the tuna spawning grounds. But they’ll have to be quick: egg-laying season doesn’t last long. Luckily, Tweak’s latest gup, the Gup-R, is the fastest she’s ever built! The Octonauts use it to tow Tina, but when the Gup-R’s battery dies, how will they catch up to the rest of her school?

2. Blue Whale Rescue

When Kwazii discovers a blue whale with an injured tail, the Octonauts attempt to use a giant net and Octofloats to keep it from sinking. Meanwhile, Peso and Tweak collaborate on a special brace for its tail, and Kwazii, Dashi and Shellington try to find it enough food. But when the supporting net breaks, the Octonauts have to launch an emergency free-fall rescue!

3. Whales of Mystery

Shellington is excited to find the distinctive tooth of a very rare creature, the spade-toothed beaked whale. Now, the Octonauts must find the tooth’s owner, so Shellington can study it, and so that Peso can help replace its tooth. But it won’t be easy: spade-toothed beaked whales like to be left alone and can dive very deep.

4. Ghost Ship

The Octonauts follow a trail of deep-sea debris to its source: a derelict ship floating unmanned on the surface. But the ship seems to be haunted by ghostly voices, which a quick dip below the water line reveals to be hundreds of barnacles stuck to the ship. As the ship drifts into waters too cold for the barnacles, the Octonauts must find a way to tow it to warmer waters before it sinks or falls apart.

5. Feeding Frenzy

Air Date:

While exploring a reef, Shellington and Dashi accidentally trigger a feeding frenzy with multiple sharks biting at anything that moves. As Barnacles and Tweak work frantically to plan a rescue, Shellington and Dashi try not to become shark food!

6. Sawfish

When Kwazii gets a case of pirate hiccups, he and Peso go up the river in search of a pirate doctor’s treasure that can cure him.

7. Nautilus

Air Date:

Kwazii sets off on a monster hunt, and soon encounters a shelled creature called a Nautilus.

The Octonauts must help reunite a grey whale calf with his mother, keeping him well fed in the meantime.

9. 11Flying Squid

The Octonauts meet a flying squid who can help Kwazii's grandfather, Calico Jack, retrieve his treasure.

10. Sea Lions

Air Date:

When a wave traps Dashi in a cave with an injured sea lion, the Octonauts and sea lion pack must work together to save them. Using just some rope and a life buoy the pack fights against the waves to save them. Can they save them before it is too late?

11. Hawksbill Sea Turtle

Air Date:

The Octonauts must guide an ill-stricken hawksbill sea turtle into cooler waters, in order for her to lay healthy eggs.

12. Wood Eating Catfish

Air Date:

When Kwazii is found with an injury, he tells the tale of how he and Calico Jack encountered a fish that ate his peg leg.

13. Seven Sea Squirts

Air Date:

The Octonauts help a band of algae-shooting sea squirts reunite in order to stop an outbreak in the reef.

14. Bullfrogs

Air Date:

When the Vegimals accidentally bring bullfrogs into the Octopod, they must rally them up and bring them back home before the Octonauts find out.

15. Giant Sea Spiders

Air Date:

Kwazii and Shellington get lost in the Antarctic’s deep seas, before meeting a family of giant sea spiders who may know a way out.

16. Great Octo-Bot Rescue

Air Date:

When the Octo-Bots sink into a lake of boiling hot sulfur, Kwazii has to rescue them before the surface hardens.

17. Axolotl

Air Date:

Captain Barnacles and Kwazii help a pair of singing female axolotls named George's mom (yellow) and George (pink) find a new watering hole, while protecting them from a hungry flock of herons.

18. Beavers

Air Date:

In order for a school of salmon to reach their nesting area, the Octonauts must enlist help from a family of beavers.

19. Zombie Worms

Air Date:

The Octolab is being eaten away by a group of zombie worms, tasking the crew with finding a new home for them.

While exploring the Mariana Trench, Shellington and Dashi come across a path full of mud volcanoes and a creature in need.

The Octonauts encounter a tiger fish and blind shrimp who become separated.

The Octonauts help a creature find his louse friend who got lost and could be in trouble.

The Octonauts head to the Yangtze River to help Min the Mapmaker, an old friend of Inkling's, who's been trapped by a mysterious creature. Turns out, It was just a Chinese giant salamander protecting her precious eggs, which have fallen ill due to rising water temperatures.
