
The Knock
The Knock is a British television drama series, created by Anita Bronson and broadcast on ITV from 1994 to 2000, which portrayed the activities of customs officers from Her Majesty's Customs and Excise. The series derived its name from the distinctive 'knock knock knock' command used over the radio to synchronise a raid.

Customs and Excise discover a plot to smuggle heroin into England from Jamaica via mail, illegal plane landings, and a Columbian woman driven to smuggling by her debts.
2. Love and Respect

Child pornography is being smuggled from Thailand. Adams tries to stop it, and Ralston investigates the unidentified plane.
3. Trouble in Chinatown
Air Date: 1994-04-24
George Webster gets a hold on Birch while the team discover a heroin-smuggling group linked to a Chinese restaurant in London's Chinatown, run by a Triad syndicate.
4. Endangered Species
Air Date: 1994-05-01
Ralston discovers products made from endangered species, as a spilt container reveals animal horns. Meanwhile, Barton begins smuggling gold for Webster, and heroin shipments arrive from Hong Kong.
5. Reason for Concern
Air Date: 1994-05-08
Andreotti inadvertently begins investigating an international drug smuggler. Diplomatic issues bring Ralston's investigation to a halt. Birch realises his mistake in working for Webster and tries to escape but it's not so easy.
6. Show Your Metal

The team follow Barton as he brings gold illegally into the country. Webster decides to up their smuggling operation and take bullion from all over Europe. Andreotti is successful with the Mullvany case.
7. Hold Me Close
Air Date: 1994-05-22
Webster cuts Barton off, so he tries to escape but is chased into the London Underground, where he commits suicide. Birch and Beverley Webster are caught at Dover with the gold hidden in the car bumper.
1. One Day the World Froze
Air Date: 1996-04-28
Local villain Eddie Davies hires Maddern to help with his bootleg run from France, selling to local shops at rates they can't afford. One such owner, Mr Malhorta, protests, so Maddern wounds him in order to teach him a lesson.
2. Eye of the Eagle
Air Date: 1996-05-05
A mobile number found on Nadine Charles leads Christie and Andreotti to Rufus Teague, a known drug dealer. While Nadine is up in court, her boyfriend names Teague as a major buyer of cocaine.
3. The Need for Substance
Air Date: 1996-05-12
Andreotti goes undercover in South London in order to observe Davies and his son. He gets chatting to one of Davies' men in their local pub and is offered a job as a driver on a run to France.
4. A Crack in the Mainframe
Air Date: 1996-05-19
Reinhardt's long wait at Short's offices is finally rewarded when Lathem picks up the package from Sweden. While Roberts is held up in traffic, Reinhardt follows and arrests him at his home where he lives with his elderly mother.
5. Rotten Weakness
Air Date: 1996-05-26
After a complex operation using a Swedish undercover customs officer, City and South are finally in a position to knock Short's offices. However, Roberts' enthusiasm to be in on the arrest causes her to go against orders. She arranges to meet Short beforehand to ensure that she is in the building at the time of the knock.
6. Best Served Cold

To Roberts' horror, Jackson is forced to drop the charges against Short once the collaborators arrested refuse to name him in connection with the pornography racket. Once released, Short starts making threatening phone calls to Roberts.
7. Hunger for Pennies

Adams poses as a potential buyer for one of Webster's apartments in order to get closer to him. Maddern considers De Vooght's offer of Webster's shares, unaware that De Vooght plans to have them killed.
8. Take the Bribe

Jules Laurens negotiates a deal with a Russian gang to buy £20 million worth of heroin. Englishman Allan Montford is to buy another ten.
9. Noose
Air Date: 1996-06-23
While the lorry containing a large quantity of Russian heroin treks across Europe, Reinhardt visits Interpol to examine their mugshots of known Turkish criminals. Adams also suggests that he may be a chef — as deduced from a set of knives found in the abandoned van.
10. A Fallen Horse
Air Date: 1996-06-30
Adams, furious at himself for having put Reinhardt's life at risk, orders him home as soon as he's reported to the Gendarmerie Centrale. Adams learns that the man Reinhardt has identified as one of the two involved in the shooting (Dulkadir), is an NCIS target.
11. Out of the Picture
Air Date: 1996-07-07
The consignment of heroin arrives in Lyon. The French Mafia plots to wipe out the Russian smugglers using Montfort to infiltrate the gang. Chadwick shows Short evidence of his dealings with a child pornographer.
12. The Organ Grinder
Air Date: 1996-07-14
Christie persuades a scared and reluctant Lucas to show him the house where Dafyd delivered his print-outs. City and South check out the food importers and find Fauld's diary full of references to Montfort including his expected time of arrival at Heathrow. They find more incriminating evidence of Montfort's involvement, and reference to the Lyon farm, at Fauld's country home.
13. Hard Task

Adams receives permission from Jackson to bring the seriously injured Saphyvid to Heathrow in order to identify Montfort, thought to be travelling under an assumed name.

A diabetic is hospitalised after taking counterfeit medicine. Adams and team follow a trail that leads to an investigation in Africa.
2. Wavelength
Air Date: 1997-04-13
The trail of the counterfeit drugs lead Ralston and Christie to West Africa where the drugs are causing an outbreak of septicemia. Counterfiet drugs from China are found being smuggled into England inside photocopier spares.
3. Russian Roulette
Air Date: 1997-04-20
Smuggler John Danson is being intimidated by members of the former East German secret police, now turned smugglers. Master forger Donald Dewhurst enters the team's radar when a counterfeit US Dollar plate is seized.
4. The Combination of Two
Air Date: 1997-04-27
Danson buries Noveski's body near the smuggling route on the Suffolk Coast. An accomplice of Dewhurst's comes forward, leading Andreotti and Ralston one step closer.
5. Protected
Air Date: 1997-05-04
A consignment of tobacco on the Suffolk coast nearly gets Danson killed, as he's targeted by the East German assassins. In Morroco, Dewhurst and Ransley flee as the gang close in.
6. Track and Trace

Surveillance takes place as Dewhurst, Ransley and ex-agent Leakey arrive in London. Meanwhile, Danson is on the warpath when his son is kidnapped by the East German gang.

The team get a new boss in David Ancrom. Meanwhile, drug baron Frankie Johnson and his partner, American wheeler-dealer Greg Taylor with a sideline in plutonium smuggling, become a headache for the team.

Johnson and Taylor arrange to have the courier killed, as he returns from South Africa suffering from radiation sickness. The team are in a deadly race against time as ultimatum from an arms dealer means trouble.

As fellow conspirators start turning up dead and the Customs net starts to close in on him, Taylor panics and desperately attempts to close the deal for the bomb.

Christie's undercover operation is threatened when the Algerians suspect they've been betrayed, putting Christie in danger. The rest of the team are also involved in a group who smuggle endangered animals.

Ancrom discovers Ralston made a deal with Toni Maxwell, in return for Christie's whereabouts. An operation on a gang of crooked airport baggage-handlers goes like clockwork, until their psychotic leader escapes.

An illegal arms racket is discovered after a suspicious container at Tilbury Docks explodes, almost killing Christie. A new elite squad known as Indigo has been formed and Christie is invited to join, leaving Murray frustrated at being passed over.

Siblings Rick and Jenny Foster supply deadly ecstasy tablets in the clubs of Ibiza. The pair are so hard to catch that Indigo suspect there's a mole tipping them off.

A poisonous toad smuggling operation causes a series of deaths to Indigo. An international drugs baron has an old score to settle with team leader Vaughan.
4. Power Trip

When a teenage girl goes missing, an online pedophile ring are the chief suspects. An explosion kills the main suspect. The team race to find the girl before she is killed.
